Feels weird having the 1 in front of all the digits.

Also, fixed the fuel level sender. What an AWFUL ordeal that was. I have no idea how Hans got the canister out the access hole, clearly it must have been a different one. I needed to jam a screwdriver in there and bend the plastic canister to make it fit. What a terrible, TERRIBLE, time that was. The whole garage and I reeked like gasoline for next 12 hours.

That being said, the car is 99.8% operational, the closest it has ever been to 100% in the last two years, just in time to roll 100k. The only thing not working right now is the illumination for the passenger window switch… Hahaha! Close but no cigar.

Nope! But she got a nice hand wash along with a heavy spray down of her underpinnings… Plus a tank of 93 octane!

The wine will come during the weekend. She's about to get driven nearly 1,500 miles by next Sunday. Hahaha

So shall we take bets on when the trans will crap out? As far as common problems go, that's all that's left….

After the tune the shifts are completely normal. I don't know what we did to make it shift like that, but Will from Overkill said that I am lucky to still be driving a car with a working trans. Apparently the tune was VERY not okay.

As I said on the book of faces, congrats! My trans has developed a shudder at the top of 2nd and downshifts hard, will be interested to see how long it goes. The shudder may be my passenger side CV axle but I'm not sure. Fluid and temps still look great. Hopefully it holds out for awhile yet. When rebuild time comes I want to swap to the 3.29 gears (I think I got that right).

Well, yesterday I installed the fixed cluster and passenger door window switch. Now everything illuminates! Short of cosmetic damage, the car is now in 100% operational shape, which is weird. Hasn't been this way for 2+ years. Knock on wood! Wonder what's next… Hahaha

Also, since CGC's retrofitting service is already done, here's a picture of the last of breed… Hahaha!

I'm pretty much done, at least for a while, unless someone wants me to redo the bottom set in the above picture to have aim. In the beginning I enjoyed it, but it when you're doing it for money, it becomes stressful. Especially since you have to be really precise with the aim when you're glueing the projector in. It is a tedious process. Even though I've done so many sets it still takes me anywhere between 10-15 hours to completely finish one set of these lights, depending on if I encounter any hiccups. This combined with being a full time student and working two jobs led to it being hard to find time to do these lights, let alone time for myself. As the saying goes… All work and no play…. Hahahaha!
Once summer rolls around, I may do a couple sets, but I'm not confirming anything.

Well, I must thank you again, Carl, for your blood, sweat, and tears on these headlights. They all look so good!

Once I learn, I won't be able to do what you did, but you'll have at least inspired me to work a set for both a LeSabre and a Cutlass (I'm less worried about ruining headlights like those).

Retrofitting isn't hard, it just takes patience, and a steady hand. Once you jump the hurdle of those fluted lenses, it'll be fine. Can you put the headlights from a 96-99 LeSabre onto the 92-95 similarly as Matt did on his 93 SSEi?

This is exactly why I didn't make a career out of working on cars for a living. What was once a hobby became a chore and you get tired of working on everyone else's problems. And you got so sick of it, that you didn't want to touch your own stuff.

'97 was the year they changed and went to plastic, and the bumpers, fenders, and hood changed, so there's no chance of swapping. I'll just load up on spares from the junkyard and practice on the glass. Need to learn so I can do the same on Tim's '86 Cutlass.
