Randomly shuts off

Post by emberg89 »

This problem just recently started, the first time, it turned off and back on real quick and all gauges went crazy. Then it stopped for a couple days but this morning, I started the car and before i was even out of the parking lot, it just shut off. I figured alright, put it in neutral and try to start it again, didn't work. Had to stop the car completely, put it in park and try a couple times before it would start again. I noticed too, I have an aftermarket radio, and it was back to factory settings and on demo mode, this kinda makes me think its something electrical, but then at the stop light right before work, it did it again, right as i got completely stopped. I redid my radio already by this time, but the car started up when I put it in park but the radio wasn't reset.

Any thoughts? My first ones were electrical or fuel pump or filter. No check engine light on either, only one is the washer fluid and seatbelt

Thanks!
Gunnar

Sounds like loose/corroded battery connections or a bad ground.

What ever it is, it sounds to me like it's the same thing causing both. For what it's worth, I think the guys are probably correct, bad power connection. Check the battery cables where they connect to the battery. They are probably corroded/loose. - BC
