Loudest On The Forum?

Post by Sytek »

I posted a few threads a while back, but haven't been active for a while now. I said I had plans to do this months ago and I finally got around to doing it. Took a lot of modifications to the door panels, but I was able to install a 4" super tweeter, one 8" mid-bass driver, along with two 6.5" mid-bass drivers in each of the front doors. I'm planning on getting a 4-channel amplifier for the two door panels and run around 300 watts RMS to each door. Haven't had a chance to do anything to the back yet, but that will be soon to come (:

The next step will be the subwoofers in the trunk. I bought two Addictive Audio V4 15s which RMS around 1250 watts conservatively and they will be powered by an Ampere Audio AA-3800.1D at 0.5 ohm. I'm hoping to get around 4k watts out of the amplifier and tune the box around 30-32hz.

This isn't a small upgrade by any means and most people would say it's overkill, but I plan to compete with it in local competitions and hopefully hit 150db+ from the trunk. Not sure if many of you guys on here are interested in this kind of stuff, but I figured I might as well share what I've been doing with the Pontiac Bonneville community (:

Normally not my cup of tea, but your install looks clean and professional. Very nice!

Already installed a high output alternator which should put out around 200 amps I believe. In addition I replaced the stock battery with a bigger one as well as adding another one as a secondary one. Might be buying a third battery down the road.

Thanks! My dad and I have been working on it for a while. My primary goal was to make it look clean and stock. Wrapping the driver side door panel as I'm typing this post ahaa.

Hey man, I'll try to post up some pictures later of my set up. After competing in Midwest SPL competitions for several years I've kinda gotten out of it. Last I checked I think I hold the state record for a trunk car, but at the last show I did end up doing like a 150.1 with 2 12" Sundown audio Z v.3's and 2 Digital Designs M3's. Normally only on 1 DD M3 will do 148+.

Hertz High Energy 3-way set in custom molded doors
MMats Audio 100.4 (Bridged)
Sundown Audio Z v.3 12's @ 35hz
DD M3
80 sqft of Second skin
Battcap 4000
LOTS of 1/0 wire
Kenwood deck
2000 Pontiac Bonneville SSEI
Weapon-R Secret Weapon Intake
Magnaflow High-Flow cat and dual mufflers
Sundown Audio amp and subwoofers
Custom molded door pannels
35% tint all the way around and full windshield
Cleared and tinted tail lights
Cleared Headlights
Headliner wrapped in plaid

That is a very clean install for having so many speakers in the one door!!! Get a grill on that tweeter and it will be all set. NICE, lets see the rest of the system.

I myself have a JL 10W1 and an MTX (geesh its been so long since I installed it) 120w amp. Pioneer headunit and the rest of the speakers are stock.
