I recently broke the front transmission mount on my Bonneville. I am wondering if it would be a good idea for me to weld it solid.
Please advise. Don't like the banging it makes sometimes.

No, do a search for the hockey puck mount.

I have looked around for this hockey puck mount and I don't find anything. Is this something I have to make myself?

it was incredibly easy to make up. and it only cost less than 20 bucks! i think the actual mount is around 60$. I have around 1500 miles on mine and its still holding up.

An illustration would be nice. The guy starts talking about a boat roller and then hockey pucks. So which is it, the boat roller or the hockey pucks?

Read this thread and you'll know more than you ever wanted to know about the great puck controversy.

Re: 2003 SSEi transmission mounts
I have a design in mind for this type of Mount. I will post it when I have finished it
My next question is this: whenever I take off in first and the engine bucks back from the torque, I can hear something what sounds like grinding but it's only in first gear. Is that normal because the mount is broke?

Re: 2003 SSEi transmission mounts
Okay, here is what I did. I took a whole saw with a drill and cut out of the used tire six fragments. The tire is eight ply. I then went to the local hardware store and got an all thread,'some washers, some nuts and nylon locking nuts and it works just fine. I put two pieces on the bottom where the mount rests. Then I put two underneath the mount bracket that comes off the transmission and two on top of it because the engine torques upward. Holds good.
