Did rear brakes yesterday. Both calipers were seized. Now have reman calipers raybestos advance tech rotors and wagner thermoquiet. Also replaced purge vent solenoid while I had her ass up. Breaks are spongy even after I bled the system. Might have to bleed the front calipers or just get a fluid flush. Do they bleed the system when they do a flush?

I finally replaced that hood cable on the 96 GP. What a pain that was, but at least there's not a cable sticking out of the grill anymore.

Bought Power Stop D/S Rotors (name brand) for the front/ I'll hopefully pick up the better version of the wagner ceramic brake pads in a couple weeks. I wanna do all four when I have the $ and rebuild and paint the calipers. If I wait it could be a very long wait.

I ripped apart the driver side of my GXP today. God d***it I hate aluminum control arms and knuckles. The wheel bearing is seized into the knuckle, and the ball joint rivets are seized into the control arm. Rather than f with it for three days I'm just gonna replace the whole control arm. I had to cut the stud off the tie rod end to get that separated, so this "little" project just turned into a bunch of new parts. All I wanted to do was replace the output seal, cv axle, and ball joint.

Today I washed and changed the oil on the 04, then I changed out one of the rusted out mufflers on the 96. Also I Plasti dipped the hood vents and saw that somebody had modified the stupid sealed beam headlights to take 9006 bulbs. So in went the 9012's that I had in my other non retrofitted headlights.

Cleaned the MAF sensor in Bullet. Also reactivated the water injection system.
I was getting significant KR without it.
Quite a difference in this warm weather.

I painted the mismatched wheels on the 96. I did the lip on them with the same silver as my GXP wheels, and did the laces body color. Don't mind the overspray on the tires.

Nice paintjob!

Today I Started repainting the passenger side view mirror. Have it sanded and primed right now just going to let it set a bit before I put the green on. Also tried putting some protectant on the dash since it's starting to look pretty bad from the years and heat.

Washed her in and out also and scrubbed the wheels. Very shiny.

Drove 300 mi RT to a nice loc on the coast. Handled and performed beautifully. We rode casual. I had to pass a guy on a 2 lane highway with a lot of traffic on the way back. When I opened up so did he. He had it floored imho but I caught him and left him behind. Not real legendary. I just was happy as can be with Our car/

Got an avg of 24 mpg and used about 10 gallons. Got EGR code. I just cleared it and it hasn't popped up again

Well mine is really what I've done over the last three days since I was working 12 hours, working on the car, sleeping and working another 12 hour shift, replete lol. (will add picture to Midnight own forum after he gets back from the shop this weekend)
1: finished the hood: last bit of paint, sealed it, buffed it, waxed it and polished it.
2: spray painted the entire grill black, then I painted the Pontiac symbol and the trim(was silver) the same color red as is on the wife's grand prix
3: new tire (only two more to go lol)
4: put new Eagle Eye front lights and a pair of smoked (can't remember brand name) taillights on the Grand prix

And that covers what I did on my car today(s)
They call me...Snowflake
Mine:1998 Pontiac Bonneville SE 3800 II 250k miles (Bad engine)

OURS(DD): 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix 3100SFI 165k miles MODS: custom lights both front and back

Replace my right front hub after feeling some shaking in my steering wheel, I pulled over and saw 2 lug nuts holding my tire on! The rest had been broken off. Not sure how that happened. Got it towed home. Wasn't too bad of a job.

Worked on the '05 SE. Replaced the incandescent map, courtesy and trunk lamps with LEDs, swapped the ICM out of the '92. The '05 had been acting like it wanted to miss when I bought it, even after the youngest son had replaced the LIM gaskets, Plenum, plugs, and plug wires. I had swapped the coils with the '92 afterwards too. The ICM swap cleared up the "almost" miss. The car runs better the more it gets worked on and driven. - BC
