UIM/LIM gasket replacement parts

Post by GK55 »

I've got a 2003 SE L36, with 223,500 miles & I'm looking to do a LIM/UIM gasket replacement as preventive maintenance & I was wondering if anyone would mind taking the time to confirm some part numbers.

Plenum-doorman 615180
UIM-doorman 615207
LIM-doorman 615717 w/elbows

Will also replace EGR valve (SE code), plugs (delco),wires (belden)

If anyone has recommendations if appreciate it & thanks in advance.

It looks like those are the plastic gaskets for the lower. You want the aluminum ones, which will most likely never fail again like the plastic ones. I got my UIM/LIM kit from ineedparts,

Upper intake:

Lower gasket set:
http://www.ineedparts.com/96-08-lower-i ... yplus.html

And then the dorman HELP aluminum elbows will also be available at your local parts store. Those should never fail on you again.

The upper I listed has a sleeved bushing in it near the EGR passage, as well as a reduced diameter stove pipe to prevent the manifold from failing in that area. That's why I recommend that one over the stock "improved" replacement from dorman, but others have had good luck with the standard replacement manifold as well.

Thanks for the help & that's exactly what I was looking for. I had seen those links before on the forum, but was having a hard time locating them. Much appreciated.
