Note if you pull the injectors to obserbe fuel delivery...make sure you leave the plugs in and disconnect the ign. Believe me

Paint correction spot treatments. This is the first time I have done anything for the finish with the exception of wash/clay/wax etc in three years. I managed to get a bunch of areas looking 10X better!

I added oil, because... apparently that's a thing you need to do with German cars even if they have brand new motors.

Have you checked the dipstick? Don/t overfill. You could do some damage otherwise

New engines CAN use extra oil during break-in. That's actually not uncommon.

Now if you're pouring in quart after quart, that's a problem, but a little between oil changes on a fresh engine isn't unheard of.

Every internal combustion engine on the planet consumes oil. Just a fact. It's the nature of the beast. If it didn't, something would be wrong. However, a normal operating engine should consume such miniscule amounts that you really don't notice it. This is why most engines have a "safe-range" on the dipstick to account for this when checking it. And as I mentioned above, fresh engines, will burn a little extra until everything seats/wears in.

If it's excess though, I'd start looking at PCV and EGR systems sucking up too much also. Some in the EGR can be normal, but if you can pour out a quart from the system, that's a tad much.

Not to be rude, but yes... I understand motors. I wasn't really doing troubleshooting.

Under hood detail, cleaned up my recovery bottle, that was still a bit nasty, installed TB heat shield, wiped out doorsills and drainage channels. These Olds's tend to collect a lot of gunk up ahead of the front doors in the front fenders, I hit it with a hose and a screwdriver from the front seat to flush it.

Oh yeah, and unlocked the PCM with HPT. Did I mention that?

Yesterday on the '05 SE, replaced the serpentine belt (at first I didn't think I was going to be strong enough. had to work extra hard at it - ha ha) and swapped the ignition coils I got from olblueeyesbonne off the '92 SSE onto the '05 SE. Today I put "bumper pads" on the console lid and glove box lid of the '05 SE. I still badly need to take the wheels off and clean them up properly on the '05 SE. We've put over 12k miles on the car since I bought it the 3rd week of August, last year. The car runs sooooooooooooo goooooooood! nothing like a Bonneville!- BC

I restored my lenses on the retrofitted set of lights again. They got looking bad really fast, so I went more aggressive with the sandpaper. I'll see how long it lasts, if it gets bad again I'm going to swap lenses with my original lights.

Started yesterday cleaning the chrome wheels on the'05 SE. I finished today. I took them off so I could really get the elbow grease applied. I've never seen stock GM OEM chrome wheels before. I was shocked to see that only the front of the rim and spider are chromed. I wanted to paint the un-chromed portion of the wheels, but ran out of time. I did good just to get'em off, cleaned up and put back on. Now to get the headlights cleaned up again. Lasted about 9 months. - BC

went outside and looked at it parked in the driveway after the brakes on my avalanche failed and almost got me killed, thinking to myself "If I had been driving the bonne, that would'a never happened!" Time to get rid of tha avy and start driving my beat up 22 year old bonneville again.

Replaced broken end link, clayed and waxed. Sprayed wiper arms with some Pro-Form trim black.
