My "Stock" Interior

Post by 2003 SSEi »

Everyone at the Michigan Meet saw this in person, so I figured I would post up so everyone can check it out.

These are all "stock" GM Parts

I have always thought the Aurora, and Deville had a "nicer" shifter than the Bonneville. It seems that all of the "luxury" cars have a gated style shifter. So the quest began........

Aurora Shifter

Aurora Compared to Bonneville
Image

Looks like we may have something here
Image

Mounting locations were nearly the same (but I did end up making brackets to dial in the installation

Onto cutting

I had to make this

Image

fit around this

Image

Removed Cigarette tray
Image

cut a hole
Image

Molded some Heated seat switches
Image

Image

added the Aurora Shifter Ring
Image

Image

Image

added some switches
Image

and after what seemed like 1000 hours of filling, sanding and repeating

Image

you end up with this
Image

Image

Image

and of course the Aurora Nav with Red buttons
Image

Image

Last but not least 04+ Grand Prix Cluster Needles
Image

Image

remember "its all stock" just like the rear center console, rear Vanity Mirrors, umbrella holders, and other countless Aurora, Lesabre, Deville, Seville and other GM parts intermixed. :)

Im curious how did you change the color of the navigation until and does it still say Aurora when you start it up, because I buying one and I am wondering if I can alter it to say Pontiac or maybe Bonneville!
And btw it all looks AWESOME!

Wow that is some great work, and very cool. You did a good job matching the color too.

when I installed my Nav unit, it only Said Delphi and the screen looked like this. The

once I flashed the Correct VIN with the Tech 2 the screen looks like this (night mode)

Image

I will get the occasional Pontiac Splash screen, but dosent happen everytime. I had to change the color of the buttons by removing the Blue bulb caps, and installing a Red filter behind the buttons

Love it. Shifter looks much better than factory. What are all the extra switches for?

The 04+ GP needles look great, I know they are a popular swap for the 97-03 guys.

What did you use as filler when making the faceplate? And also how hard was it to replace the dash needles?

Needles just pop on, if you can get the cluster out you can change the needles.
