body 12" brakes under 15" wheel?

Post by coop8070 »

I am starting the parts gathering process of doing the wbody front suspension and body brake upgrade. One thing the guide does not mention is if the Brakes will fit under my stock 15" wheels?

Considering not all 16"s fit and I couldn't run sticky weights without hitting the calipers on my 16"s, I would have to say no 15"s will fit.

That is a bummer, I will have to buy a whole new set of wheels and tires, plus a whole new set for winter as well, this $500 dollar mod just went up real fast. I guess I'm looking for the cheapest 17s I can find now, any one in Washington got some?

Stock w-body brakes are little to no improvement, from what I understand.

But the suspension parts are, so if I can upgrade those first and the brakes and wheels later then I don't have to put the whole project off for like a year.

So I just read through the guide again. Am I correct that I can do the strut and spring upgrade and keep my stock knuckle until I can afford the wheels and tires I want? My struts are currently blown so my girl has agreed to let me splurge enough to upgrade them from stock, but not buy a new wheel and tire combo even if I had the money Lol.

You need an 00+ Bonneville knuckle with W body struts.
