Haven't been on in a while, but I do have a "?" for you knowlegable members. I have a 2003 Bonneville with a trans that just up and quit while driving. This is due to the converter grinding away at itself (what I think anyway until I open up the thing and see for myself). I am wondering if I can get a transmission from any SC GM vehicle of the same year and just change out the sun gear in the final drive and not have a problem. Hope you can give me some insight on this matter.
Thank you

Re: Transmisson question
I'd be looking at the diff to see if that's the cause of the issue. It's common enough.
Being that you have an 03, it's the purple spotted unicorn of transmissions. Meaning it's a one year only thing. And having an H body you need the extra webbing in the back for your motor mount. One that looks like this
