I have search on this topic and read some of the threads, but still need some assistance please. Here are my symptoms...
- left rear door lock does not work
- right rear window randomly goes down about an inch on its own
- get right rear door ajar warning chime and message on information center. usually coincides with window going down an inch
- right rear window can only be controlled by the driver
- interior lights have come on and then gone off shortly thereafter just a couple of times while driving
I have just lived with these issues for quite some time now, but the left rear door lock problem recently surfaced and I wanted that fixed. To that end I disassembled the door and the latch/lock assembly and tested the door lock actuator. It works fine. In the old days when the door lock failed it was usually the actuator. After diving into this and researching the problem it's painfully obvious that there is a hell of a lot more going on in our doors than there use to be. It also appears as though the problem with my left rear door lock might be related to all of these other mysterious happenings in my car.
So, before I start tearing my car apart looking for wiring problems........
- can anyone please provide some wiring diagrams?
- can I swap the left and right door modules to see if the symptoms follow the module?
Thanks

Re: 2000 SLE Power door lock/window issues
It's possible that there is a problem with the driver's door module and/or the data bus being intermittent. I don't know if the modules can be swapped. You may want to check the numbers on them.

I agree, don't waste a lot of time, just swap out the DDM - it is the most likely cause of your issues, you can get one from haro for $25, just make sure the part number matches yours.

Thanks for the replies. I was really hoping to test it somehow before throwing money at it.
Bob, you mentioned I could get one at "haro". I have never heard of that and a Google search turns up a bunch of bmx bike sites.

Does the drivers door module control or assist in the control of the remote door lock/truck lock system?

The drivers door module controls the other doors through their modules. As for the trunk lock, i am pretty sure it does nothing for the trunk.
