Did I replace the wrong part?

Post by Typanis »

For the past number of months, my 2001 SSEi would only blow air out of the dash vents. Nothing to the windshield or to the floor. So last Sunday I replaced the drivers side air mix actuator (pain in the ass since my hands are too big and I'm not as young as I used to be) and now it blows mainly to the windshield and a little to the floor and will not change. Did I replace the wrong actuator? It's a brand new part from RockAuto.

Thanks!!!

You should have replaced the MODE actuator, not the airmix actuator. The mode changes were the air goes, and the airmix changes the temp.

Thanks for the great photo. I did replace the correct part, the mode actuator.
Is there anything else that could go wrong that would make it not operate correctly?

When you had the actuator off, did you check to see that the door moved freely?
