Road noise

We have always drove the buick version of the H body...this is my first bonneville...my question is, why the heck are the tires so noisy on the highway? Can I fix it with some fat mat? also some tard took the door panels off and never realigned the seals on the windows..

Its probably a combination of the window seals and the door seals. Door seals shrink over time creating a small gap. Also check the inner wheel wells for rust holes, that will make the road noise really loud as there may be a hole above the tire.

When I got the car I patched the passenger side wheel well..and under the seat...the water from the wheel well dripped down under the seat causing that part to rot...as for door seals..any ideas?

Another thing that comes to mind right away is the fact that most of the LeSabres/Park Avenues came with 205 width tires and many of the Bonnevilles came with 225 width tires. I have drove a couple 92-99 H-Bodies and the Buicks do generally have less tire noise. To verify this I took the 205's off my 94 LeSabre and bolted on the 225's from my brothers 97 Bonneville. The result: the handling got better on the Buick, but tire noise also went up. But if the door/window seals are not how they should be, that will certainly make a difference.

my seals were out of shape, someone had removed them at one point...I have adjusted them and the car is better than what it was..I bought some extra sealing strips and applied to the door frame, this improved my interior a lot...now my doors close without a cheap bang...and a nice solid thud..Good call on the buicks though...it makes sense..old farts don't want luxury with attitude..

The cars really needed more insulation under the rear seats as well as in the trunk... This will help deaden a lot of the sound from the rear..
