Security light on

Post by Tim's Buick »

My 93 Park ave. The security light is illuminated and does not turn off. It does not affect the driveability of the car at all. The remote key fob works well too.

Any ideas on how to diagnose this?

BTW, since my trans stays in third gear with no TCC, I rigged a switch under the dash that I turn on when on the highway. Still no TCC, but it drops the RPMS down a bit. :btruestory: I did it till I can afford a tranny. :withstupid:

The tiny little VATS wires to the ignition lock broke with the car running. Lucky you. The light stays on but doesn't disable the car.

Check Techinfo for VATS bypass. A coupla bucks at Radio Shack and a half hour tops should fix ya right up.

Yep, mine is stuck on in the LeSabre, I've just been too lazy to pull the column apart and fix it. The resistor trick will fix it right up.
