Air Bag Light

Post by 38kronik00 »

Hello all, been a while...

I wasn't too sure where to put this so move it if need be.

Here is my issue. I was getting the Service Stability System message on my DIC and when I finally got it read it was starting to apply the brakes at random times. Turns out it was the SWPS which I got replaced as of yesterday. (Not a fun job even with two people.) My back is sore and so is my neck from that.

After I got that all done I put it back together, took it for a drive, and had no issues...except....my air bag light is on now. This also makes the HUD show the check gauges message and is simply annoying me. Any hints on how I can get that off? I assume its on because I disconnected it at one point while doing the SWPS. Thanks for any help!

What about unplugging the battery for half an hour? Worth a shot. Resets everything.

Gonna have to get it scanned. Are you sure you re-connected everything correctly?

Yes Ed, connectors only let me put them in one way so I can't fudge it up too bad lmao. Oh well, might have a guy with a Tech2 that can fix the problem tomorrow....maye.

K, just double checking. The first place to start is the place you just were. Sometimes is easy to forget a small wire that's somewhere...

Did you remove the column? I bet you broke the wires in the clockspring. The steering wheel can't be rotated more than 3.5 times in either direction or the wires will break. If so, your steering wheel buttons won't work either. If you need a new clockspring, PM me.

Well, they tried to clear it but it kicked it right back out. Steering wheel buttons still work. Everything appears to be connected... I'll recheck the connections one last time.

I was just giving you crap Ed lol.
