Air temperature door

Post by HATNINJA »

I have a 1996 Bonneville ssei. Can someone please tell or show me where the temperature door is on this thing!!!? I have a fsm it tells me nothing. Please dont say its through the hole behind the glove box, Ive checked that and that is the blend door that sends air to the selected duct...defrost, bi level, or floor which dosent work now because I monkeyed with it and pooped the linkage off.

note that temperature is determined upon blend door position. air from cowl or recirc from inside car is routed thru ac evap and will bypass heater core or be routed thru heater core or partially bypassing heater core depending upon blend door (marked ac temp valve in drawing).

air to dash vents, windshield or floor vent is determined by vacuum setting in programmer module.

hope this helps.

I have this in my fsm. Where is the ac temp valve located and how to access it?

air temp valve (blend door) is located behind the glove box and on top of the air plenum near firewall. to access, remove glove box and look for the plastic connecting rod between the air temp valve and the airmix actuator (i believe you have already disconnected the rod). the rod connects to the air mix temp valve (blend door) at the leftmost end and to the airmix actuator at the right most end. you have to remove the programmer module and the electrical connector between the programmer module and the air mix actuator. then remove three screws on top of the airmix actuator to remove the actuator. the airmix temp valve (blend door) is not removable without access to the inner air plenum.

removing the air mix actuator is a challenge but a lot of Bonn club members have done so.

good luck.
