Boony wont turn over but has good battery

Post by zigger21 »

I noticed the security light was flashing on my dash and I didn't even try to start I have a good voltage and new battery. The only thing I can think of is I put a viper alarm and auto start' would the installation of the auto start and non factory security be messing this up. It started acting up after a week after installation. Could you please help its a Viper 791 I think. Its just an auto starter and door lock and unlock. Please help. I have the VAT down to the nuts on the key lock and the resistor I just dotn understand, this happened it the past and I had a good charge on the car but then when I got jump it started?? Is there anything you can think of that I can do like Unwiring the factory security? Please help me if you help I will thank you a ton..

My battery was changed in May of this year and it has always been fully harged. I have the viper auto starter which would kill the starter as if it was trying to get stolen. Sometimes the when the car doesn't start it doesn't turn over the lights come on and I have good voltage but it wont crank. Any Ideas why? Could it be the auto starter. The starter is 3 years old co I don't think that's the problem could it be a bad connection on the battery giving enough juice to run the lights but not connected enough to get the crank power going. I planned on changing the posts on the battery terminals because in order to unscrew and screw on the batteries terminals I need to use a channel locks because the posts are stripped bad on the negative and positive posts? Do you think this maybe the problem?? Thanks in advance for your help

It's not like these cars don't occasionally have VATS problems, but the addition of the electronics is quite suspicious. Assuming a shop installed the new stuff, I'd have it towed there and insist they fix it.

If you installed it yourself, someone else will have to chime in, as my electronic knowledge doesn't extend past changing a fuse.

Good luck.
