Brake light come on when hit rough road

I have a 2003 SLE that the brake light has started to come on when I hit rough road. It is off when I start the car and stays off until I hit a patch of rough road or a pothole. It has plenty of fluid and I even unplugged the sensor from the master cylinder and it still does it. Anything I can check?

Look at the park brake switch-contacts, and wires. You may have a problem there.

Is it just the " Brake " light?

Or are the ABS, TRAC OFF and BRAKE light on?

Yes, the ABS and TRAC OFF lights are on but it has been that way for the past 2 years. The Brake light just started coming on a couple weeks ago.

Wheel hub assy is likely culprit. The sensor, which is likely bad, is within the assy and the whole thing has to be replaced to solve the problem.

But before you do that, go to a service station with a Tech II or comparable computer to check your car. They may run the check for free, ask around. Any GM dealership or GM certified shop should be able to do it.

I agree have it scanned for ABS/Trac faults.. Could be a bad Hub or EBTCM... A scan will point you in the right direction..
