One other thing that gets overlooked is the cabin air filter. If it is dirty and plugged, it can cause the condition you describe. I'd check that first.

so finally got around to looking at it and i unplugged the connector and ran some wires from the motor to the battery and no change in air output (still the same low output) is that a sign the blower motor is going bad ????

Generally, the blower motors are either good or bad. It's possible that the bearings in the motor could be going. You could remove it and see how freely it spins. The other possibility is that the heater core, or evaporator is clogged.

i pulled it out and checked the motor thinking maybe it was just gunked up but every thing looked clean so when i spun it, it barely make makes a full turn. i checked the fuses i'm trying to not to have to spend a lot of money of this hoping i dont have to take it to a mechanic and spend money i dont have haha

Does it speed up and slow down as you adjust the fan settings on the dash? If so, probably a worn out motor on your fan...

Only thing I could think of is there's some kind of nest in your vent plumbing. You didn't notice anything odd in your fan box, did you? If you ran power to it straight from the battery, then I don't know what to tell you...

so got my car back for the shop, first my ac refrigant is low which i figured it was. but as my fan is concerned the told me that the wires going to the blower motor are getting hot so that want to replace the wire harness, are they talking about the harness the goes from the blower resistor to the motor if so its a rip off i think its 120 for the harness are you kidding my its like 15-20 dollars worth of parts plus 56 for labor. I bet i could make a better harness. any way that is what the shop is saying but i might have some on else look at it. *after some digging they are talking about the blower resistor so at least its not just some wire and pastic ends. also the wires going to the blower motor are getting hot another sign the resistor is bad ?

The blower motor control processor that is located under the right side of the dash behind the DIM controls the fan speed. (To the right of the blower motor). There is a purple wire that runs from this to the blower motor. Measure the voltage between this wire and a good ground. It should decrease as you increase the fan speed from 4.75V al minimum speed to 1.5V at maximum speed. If the voltages are off, then check the wires and connectors and if they are clean and good, replace the module.

If feeding the motor directly with 12 volts did not make a difference in the speed of the motor, then changing the wiring, connections or module will not make the motor turn faster. Unless, you used part of that circuitry to feed the motor with the 12 volts.

when i was trouble shooting it was the original blower motor last week i get a blower motor from a salvage yard and it didnt help but i never tested the new unit ( by hooking it up straight to the battery) so ill test the voltage when i get home. ill post my results

so this is how in had it hooked up: positive lead clamped to purple wire negative lead clamped to ground.
now i tested 2 grounds one in the car and one in the engine bay and my meter read 14.3 v with no change in voltage when to turned the speed fan knob so did i do this correct ? thx for the help

Try the same test on the black wire. That also runs to the blower motor control processor and the control for these processors usually works on the low voltage side of the circuit.

alright so i tested the black wire and i got -2.2v on low and 0.0v on high im gonna assume the shop is correct the blower resistor is bad
