my car humms in the back trunk?

Post by david »

So every now and then I can hear a hum coming from the back of the car. It sounds like its coming from the trunk. Could it be the fuel pump in the trunk? Could it be going bad. It doesnt do it all the time , just now and then. Also my cars ac hisses or whistles when I turn the car off. Noise comes from passenger side engine compartment. Only when I use the ac. If you guys or gals could help me on these I would appreciate it. Thanks

To the first, it's the compressor doing load leveling...

Both conditions are normal. The air compressor for leveling is behind the right rear wheel. The whistle is the pressures in the A/C system equalizing, and usually shouldn't last much more than 30 seconds.
