Mine has 70K, and that's still low for me. I don't mind driving in rain and snow. It's that crap they put on the roads here - it's a painful death for anything that drives on it. I regularly wash the undersides of my vehicles, but it still got to the LeSabre. I never wanted to drive the Bonneville on that stuff, but I have too now, and I'm trying my best to keep the underside clean. I just don't want the G8 out on it yet (of course, the previous owner 'could' have drove it all year round, but I don't know that for sure). But, Jerry, it's your car, and you decide how you want to drive it.

Of course, by not driving it, it gives me something fun to look forward too once it gets nice. :wink:

There are two G8 GT's for sale close to here. Both are going for $25K Canadian.....(equivalent to $20K US probably).

....and one is Silver. =P~

No I won't buy another car right now....I'm happy enough with what I have. :)

Yes it was the first one with the 19" rims......but he wouldn't budge on the price. It's a days drive away with an overnight stay plus $150 Ferry travel.
I think I was dreaming when I sent in the offer of $22K, besides I've got too many vehicles already.
In a couple of years when the warranty on the Torrent is up, I'll be looking for 2011 CTS-V.

Mine was $22,800 "Internet Price", I didn't even haggle because it was so clean and there were 3-4 people later that day who would have paid that much. They were definitely pissed off when they came in later that Saturday only to find the car sold. White Hot G8s seem to move very quickly in Canada and just about always go for full asking. $25k is high for a car with 87,000km. $22-23k is about right.

Prices in the US aren't a whole lot better. A car like what you offered on might be starting at $21-22k there. By the time you factor in import costs (and 6.1% duty since the G8 is made in Australia and isn't exempt under NAFTA), you will not save money by bringing one over. You will, however, have a lot more selection. I was getting very close to looking in New York and Michigan for White Hot GT's before this one popped up in Orangeville, ON.

Mine was $20,100 US for 68,700 miles. I started trying to bring the price down, but the couple coming in to test drive after me showed up, and I already had 2 sell before I even had a chance to look at them.

I backed off because that was the last White Hot GT left in the state at the time, and I wasn't going to loose it.

Your 20" wheels look so hot but aren't you worried about damaging them on those rough TO frost heaved streets?

My brother had 20" on his car and lost a couple of wheels to pot holes.

I just read a write up in the most recent Automobile mag on a new Charger with the 20" wheels and they damaged 3 within the test period on the street.
Just not enough rubber on those bands.

19" maybe but 18" seem more comfortable and look pretty good too.

The dealer had 5-year road hazard for rims and tires - applicable to any set on the car at the time of incident, whether it's winter steelies, OE rims, or these 20's. I figure I'll keep them for a while, and if I have to, I'll replace them with 19's. These 20's aren't worth enough money to buy a new set of similar 19's with tires, so I don't have much to lose :P

Tire sidewall plays a huge role in how a tire protects a wheel. Chargers are also a bit heavier....

Hence why a lot of tire manufacturers are implementing a "rim guard" into the sidewall of the tire, to absorb the brunt of the force instead of the wheel.

245/35/20 ain't gonna protect me much :P The 2009 Charger R/T RWD is right alongside the G8 GT at 4,000lbs. The 2012 R/T RWD is 4,200lb, and the R/T AWD is a whopping 4,450lb :eek2: -- compared to a Bonneville GXP's 3800lb, a 2000+ SSEi's 3700lb, and a 92-99 SSEi's ~3600lb. Rim quality counts too, as far as I know Breyton is a pretty good name. One can get away with cheaper rims on larger aspect ratios and smaller rims (50 or 55 series on a 17" rim, for example), but not so much when you go for the big sizes.

Ed- didn't know that. I thought the rim guard was mostly for reduction of curb rash.

Performance tires have stiffer sidewalls than an All season, AutoX tires probably made my 18's on the GTI survive MN roads.

But 20's? limited choices... Perhaps you can sell them to a Camaro, GTO, G8 owner in the summer. Your front brakes look really tiny in the 20's

What are they? 11"? Same as my Firebird fronts. Tiny by todays standards.

Front brakes are 12.6" rotors. Bonneville GXP is 12.7".

Jerry: That wasn't based in any facts, lol, just my intuition of the design. It's definitely going to prevent the edge of a pothole scraping your rim, but those are beefy beads to get past first...
