What is the Rear antenna for?

Hey Guys, I'm Just curious what the rear antenna is for...Is it just for onstar? or for the radio also?

the one on the Roof or the one on the Glass.

The one on the Roof (if equipped) is for XM, the One on the Glass is for Onstar

I am talking about the one on the glass... I believe the previous owner had an after market antenna for his cell phone, and so he took the stock on off and the mirror is unplugged. I will probably just leave it off if it is just for the onstar.

Antenna on the back glass is OnStar. It can be removed. (Mine was when I had the tint done)

On my 2000, which did not come with On-Star, it has an antenna built into the front windsheild and one in the back glass for superior radio reception. It is stated in the owners manual.

The cars that have Onstar have a External Glass Mounted antenna. This differs from the Radio antennas
