Any aftermarket speaker will not be able to use the factory connector. With a set of speakers should come a piece of wire about 8-10" long with two spade connector ends at one end and bare wire at the other. Cut off the factory connector and splice in that new connector, plug it in and go.
Edit: Just out of curiosity, do you have the Monsoon stereo (SSEi), I see you have an 02... That will impact what sort of speakers you can put in to get the correct sound, I know more on Bose than Monsoon, but there are plenty of people here, and other threads that will help you if you have Monsoon. Unless you decide to go full aftermarket, then it's a little easier to decide what will work and sound best.

you can most likely get a converter that will connect to the factory harness and then to any aftermarket speaker.. did this in my Monte. better then cutting the wires and splicing them ect..
go to the junkyard and look for grand prixs, they use that same style connector but it isn't attached to the speaker frame. that is how i adapted mine in without cutting
2000 ssei gone but not forgotten

I used the connectors off my factory speakers. I just cut the wires, used a heat gun to expand the frame, and the factory connectors slid right off. I then soldered the wires to that connector and used it.
Really, you can go about it anyway you like. I may be redoing mine this summer anyway if I choose to upgrade my factory radio.

I replaced my 6x9's a while ago and when i did i just bought the GM Harnesses for 10 bucks from best buy. But this past Saturday i figured it was time to replace my blown out speakers in my doors with
these: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Alpine---Ty ... Id=2292666
I've been in my car more than in my house since i put them in well worth the money. Best thing you can do is just buy the Harnesses for all your speakers because sooner or later you're going to want to upgrade and once you upgrade your speakers you can either solder the wires to the speakers or have connectors ready to install.
