AUX IN '03 from XM reciever in truck

A user has mentioned a splice operation at the receiver in the trunk. I've done the same with a connector package and I don't seem to have functionality just using the headphone jack on my iPad. I didn't assume it would work and thought it would likely require the audio direct from the iPod but I've not received the cable required to put the L & R channels to the connection from the iPod rather than the headphone connection. I had to try with using the headphone jack.

My 2 questions are - 1. Is the procedure actually something that is functional? Has someone other than "00Beast" who says he has but didn't respond to a PM for assistance accomplished it and how does the XM need to function. Does the XM require service for it to be functional or should it operate in just it's demo state? 2. Should it have worked from the headphone connection but poorly? Some aux in packages function from the headphone jack but with a lesser quality than from the direct L & R audio directly from the source.

My XM is not subscribed and I'm certainly not interested in subscribing it if that's what is going to be required. I realize the some subscription entertainment devices require a subscription to even "pass through information(signals)"

I apologize for not responding to your PM. I read it on my phone and promptly forgot to reply when I got to a computer.

Several people here can attest that mine works perfectly. I can't really explain more than the write-ups already have. The only thing I can tell you is you should double-check your connections, or maybe you have a bad cable.

Once you plug your device in, the XM should quiet, then you need to use the SEEK buttons to go to Channel 0. Using the tune knob will cause Channel 0 to mute, which just requires turning the HU off and then back on to un-mute the channel. Channel 0 has no background noise/music, which is why it is the preferred channel for this setup. No XM subscription required, it's all hard-wired in your car. The wires you tap into go from the XM module back to the main stereo, not into the XM module first.

I'm also assuming this is on an 03+ Bonneville, not the 93 you have listed in your profile?

The OFF/ON isn't in your original post that I read OR if it was I overlooked it. That was then and this is now so I've got something to go with.

I'm quite familiar with the C6 Corvette PAL Audio Link so I thought this a very viable buy. The connectors, terminal, wire and aggravation made the choice easy. My female to female 3.5mm so I can use this cable from my iPod hasn't arrived yet. My fault, I didn't order when I had the functional issue.

This isn't the source or the price I paid for my cable but it's a good image reference. USB to charge from cigar lighter/power outlet and direct "line-level" audio out not headphone supply.

I miss my ole '93MY car and if I had an opportunity to purchase a low-mile white again I certainly would. I look very hard! Maybe it's wish-full thinking that leaves it in the profile

I'm not familiar with the kit you linked. I literally cut and spliced with a normal 3.5mm ended wire, and cut and spliced into the OEM wiring, as you can see in my old post. I can't help you with the kit you linked...
