I have an 05 bonneville sle and this code does apply to these cars my car actually threw 2 codes p0420 and p1245 I asked because I wanted to know if anyone ever found out how to troubleshoot this code not the p0420

Someone with an 05 FSM might have to chime in. These motors have not changed since 2000 and before. There is no valve on the UIM except the PCV. The newer cars have a valve when they use the variable length runners.
Are you sure it was a P code? Some scanners will read other codes for different systems like the ABS and body codes.

Searching the GM service information DVD, I can find no information on that code.
