Change the thermostat next. Bet its sticking on you. I carried mine to the local GM dealer Friday to get the radiator flushed and thermostat changed. They wanted $100 for the flush, and $140 in labor for the thermostat, plus the cost of the thermostat. No thanks.

Did it myself when I got home. Thermostat is easy to get to when you remove the air box. Took about 30 minutes from start to finish. Keep a close eye on the coolant level for a few days....

Thanks for the replies everyone.

Drove for about 30 minutes straight last night, no issues at all. I did notice that the engine seems to heat up a bit more quickly (not the air coming out of the vents, though). I'm considering changing out the thermostat. Is it located on the water pump on the driver's side?

follow the hose from the drivers side of the radiator. Black housing with two 10mm bolts on it.
