Questions on some lights

Post by terrancew3 »

I was told to post a thread on this board, so I could get some more input on what to do. :helpsmilie: I want to install some halo fog lights on my car, but without the hassel of making them myself. I have seen some on ebay that say they fit my car (2000 Bonneville SSEi), but I don't want to order something that won't work. I have also seen a few pre-made fogs at autozone, but I am unsure if they would match up to my current fogs, (pictures to come later). I'm not the most creative when it comes to making my own lights, so if you suggest that, I would need a pretty detailed step by step.

On to my next question, does anyone know how to hook up some red LED strip to the tail lights to come on when I press the brake? I have seen those LED bars that guys have on their trucks, but my bumper probably isn't long enough and has dual exhaust in the way. I don't know why, but I just like having excessive lighting to show people where I am at all times (must be a defensive thing?).

And on to my last thing, I think? I was wondering what all of you would think if I had "Supercharged" in a semi-cursive font scrolled along the bottom of my car in like a dark grey color (like my rim color). Or should I just get that along my rear window instead? I want my car to look badass and aggressive, something that will turn heads just based on appearance. Caues I think the first impression is the best impression. But, so far from what I have done to my car, some guy I work with said he thought my car would be worth about $10,000 if I were to sell it. I just laughed and told him it was for sale (sarcasticly).

So, if any of you guys could fill me in with some good, bad, or constructive criticism that would be awesome. Thanks for your time. 8-[

Here are the lights that I saw at autozone. Turns out they are a bit smaller than my current lights are, but aren't too small. Do you think this would be compatible with my car? :dontknow: Image Image

I imagine the taillights could be wired just like trailer lights. As for the fogs, iv seen halo fogs before so someone should be able to chime in and help you out.

This is the best picture that I could find that I have of the Hella Optilux that I have in my car.

Did you order them, or could those be found at an auto parts store? I like the way they look on the car, would be sweeter if they had a slight crystal blue tint to them.

I bought them over 2 years ago. Just do a search on the Hella Optilux 2500. Find the best price.

I doubt it. You'll have to splice the wiring from the stock connectors (matter of a wire cutters, solder/butt connectors and some heat-shrink) then wire in a switch for the halo's.
Bye Bye:

Alright, I should be able to do that. But instead of a switch, I'll probably just put the halo's along with the LED strips I have under my headlights. That way my ignition is the switch. =)

Speaking of exterior lighting..before going with any LED bar I'd recommend these (but in red of course)

http://www.amazon.com/Rupse-Emergency-V ... light+bars

Furthermore..how well do you guys think the white ones would look as some ground fx lighting? It would just be for at carshows for the Batmobile of course..I mean how many people have ever seen a bedliner sprayed car? lol..I really havent liked the fact that with most lighting kits there are sections of the underside that arent fully lit up..I'm thinking if I got two sets of these I could do the wheel wells, sides, front and back.....Your thoughts?

It's not who I am underneath, but what I do, that defines me.

I saw something like those at Autozone when I got my LED strips. They have all different kinds of light setups you can put in many different places. If you went with the strips of LED's like my car has, you can connect more strips to the original to extend the overall length of it. So you could actually form the well with the lights if you wanted too.
