Front strut goof

Post by bopguy »

I was replacing my struts on my car, and after I was all done with the drivers side, I realized I forgot the thin rubber cushion between the bearing and spring. Although a good portion of it was worn thru. How critical is this component? :banghead:

It also helps hold the spring in place. You may get some creaking over time. Those are often quite worn come time to replace the struts. Count on replacing them.

Thanks everyone. I'll just leave it be for the time being. There doesn't seem to be any odd noises thus far. (ABout 30 miles).
Hopefully I can track down some new ones!

Thanks. I ordered one from advance auto parts. It will be in tomorrow. And I have an alignment appointment lined up at Firestone on Wednesday. I hope I will be smooth sailing after that. At least smoother. :beerchug:
