Heater fan LOUD
With no obvious warning signs, my heater fan now has a very loud roar and vibration, as if it were missing a blade or two. I haven't dug into it yet, as it just happened tonight. If the fan itself is intact, what might be other possibilities?

More than likely it is your blower motor. It is kind of a bear to do, but I would not get a cheap one as they are prone to quick failure.pojawis wrote:With no obvious warning signs, my heater fan now has a very loud roar and vibration, as if it were missing a blade or two. Re: Heater fan LOUD
Thanks for the quick reply.
I thought I'd pull the cabin filter to see if there's any debris, etc. in there. To get to the blower motor, I'm going in from the passenger side interior, no?
Looks like Parts Train has the OE (Delphi) for $67.39 shipped. Anyone ever used this outfit?

I've noticed that my blower stopped working recently as well. I have to smack the top of the dash above the glove box to get it to turn on. I would like to know which part to buy as well.

Just tap gently on the bottom of the fan just to the right side of the hump using the toe of your shoe. That will keep from loosening up rattles hitting the top of the dash.Toyfare wrote:I've noticed that my blower stopped working recently as well. My motor gets loud every time I get something in it. I just pull the cabin filter and pullout what ever is in there. Fixes it every time.

Yep. Figured that out AFTER I pulled the blower motor. It had a dead mouse in it. Now having a rough time getting it back in (the blower motor, not the mouse). If only I'd waited for the sage advice from this forum...

Re: Heater fan LOUD
The forum baled me out big time on this one... sounded like a train. I read about the Cabin air deal and pulled, what had to be, an original cabin filter out. Leaves and other stuff in there was not helping, but what I found making all the racket was the cellophane from a back of smokes,
Thanks guys.... owe ya another one.
