66bonneville newbee

Post by calicokid »

Hi I just got a 66 bonneville coupe and I want to replace the bumpers and some interior parts. 1st how can I tell what color the interior is. its two tone blue...but how do I tell if light blue / blue / dark blue / teal these are color choices from opg. I need to know where to look for a code of some type. It sounds simple but if you have never done this its not. Also where can I find replacment bumpers and the chrome finned lower panels on the sides for it.
Thanks for your input and help from someone new at restoring one of these.

Not too many members here with the classic Bonne's. I'm unaware of anyone that makes aftermarket bumpers and parts, your best bet will be to get your stockers restored and re-chromed.

Great place for parts, very quick. (no bumpers) - amesperf.com catalog - http://www2.amesperf.com/pdf/P15.pdf

Another place for parts (had issues with paying and emailing) no bumpers - http://pysales.com/ catalog - http://pysales.com/Catalogs/fullppd.pdf

I have the colors and interiors catalog for 1966 pontiac. On the data plate on firewall (under hood) will be a trim code with three numerals...supply these to me and I can interpret. In 66, I don't believe you could get a two-tone interior. There was a metallic blue (light med. blue), turquise blue and a dark blue (Brougham only).

Bumpers: get yours rechromed or buy better cores to rechrome. The lower side pot metal trim is difficult to find and is expensive. If you still need these, let me know and I will pass along parts suppliers to you. My lower trim is ok with some pitting- rechroming these will cost a small fortune, so its not a good option.

Good luck!
