Service Vehicle Soon
I get this momentarily usually when I'm coasting before a stop or been idling. A few seconds after I raise the idle it goes away. AutoZone scanner didn't pick up any codes even while the warning was on. Any suggestions?

This light will come on and a warning chime will sound
if you have a certain non-emissions related vehicle
problem. These problems may not be so obvious and
may not affect vehicle performance or durability.
Consult a qualified dealership for necessary repairs to
maintain top vehicle performance
Thats what it says in the manual. Not very helpful.

Get it scanned by a dealer or someone with a high-end Snap-On scanner. Sounds like you have more than one issue.

It's been a while since I responded but I'm still getting this annoying SVS chime in the display. I did get a Po442(Evap Small Leak) about 2 times. Cleared it. Could that have something to do with the SVS? I also changed the Gas Cap after the DIC told me to. I'm starting to hunt through the Evap system for leaks. I got 117000 miles on her. 2003 SSEI.
Would a leak in the evap sys also not let the engine produce full boost? I used to get 7-8 psi but now only about 4. This all happened in the same time frame but I can't put a finger on it if all at once.

Likely an issue with one of the valves on the car.
Gas cap message came because of the evap issue, the gas cap is the most common issue, the evap system can't work if you leave the cap off. It's essentially an idiot light to see if you remembered to put your cap on.

After the oil pump delimma, I drove it around a week and wanted to finally get that Service Vehicle Soon to dissappear. I brought it to the dealer to get them to fix it. They didn't but they cleared the history of codes dealing with a disconnected battery then came up with a P0243, S/C Boost Solenoid Control Circuit. Since then my Check Gas Cap came back on after 6 months of being away and also now the SES is on. That is prbably P0442 Evap Small Leak. I've had this many times before.
Would a bad BCA or BCS also give the small evao leak? As for as boost pressure, I use to see 8 but now I'm lucky to see 4.
Yep, vac leak at the "T" under the snout, changed out the tubing assembly with GM part, ouch!. But it is done right. Still have the SVS coming on in the DIC. I'll check out the BCS as said in the proceedure.

I haven't had time to work on it so I brought it back to the dealer, since I've paid them to diagnose and the problem still exist. When the shop connects to it and reads the codes from the DIC, it still shows P0243. Apparently they only have one tech that's educated or qualified to troubleshoot this kind of problem. They havn't replaced anything, like the BCS or the BCA, they don't want to charge me for something and it not be fixed. I should be happy, but meanwhile this is the third time I bring it to them and the last stint is going on two weeks while they wait for the qualified tech to get to it.

Luckily I have a back up vehicle, but this is getting old.
I didn't trust the dealer that was closest to my house (Duplessis)so I went to another one 20 miles away (Capitol). Choices are getting slim.

quick search came up with this, check the wires and connection to the boost control solenoid, if its good then try replacing the BCS (rock auto has one for 26$: STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS Part # U44001 TechSmart; Functions: Supercharger Bypass Solenoid; Contents: Solenoid

Output driver modules (ODMs) are used by the powertrain control module (PCM) to turn on many of the current-driven devices that are needed to control various engine and transaxle functions. Each ODM is capable of controlling up to 7 separate outputs by applying ground to the device which the PCM is commanding ON. Unlike the quad driver modules (QDMs) used in prior model years, ODM’s have the capability of diagnosing each output circuit individually. DTC P0243 set indicates an improper voltage level has been detected the supercharger boost control solenoid control circuit.
Symptoms
You likely won't notice any drivability problems. The PCM will not illuminate the malfunction indicator lamp.
Causes
An improper voltage level has been detected on the boost control solenoid control circuit.
The above conditions are present for at least 30 seconds.
Solutions
Poor connections at the PCM or the BCS – inspect harness connectors for:
Backed out terminals.
Improper mating
Broken locks
Improperly formed or damaged terminals
Poor terminal to wore connection
Damaged harness – inspect the wiring harness for damage.
If the harness appears OK, disconnect the PCM, turn the ignition ON and observer a voltmeter connected between the BCS control circuit and ground at the PCM harness connector while moving connectors and wiring harnesses related to the BCS. A change in voltage indicates the location of the malfunction.

redzmonte, thanks for that great write up. I understand what you are saying, I work with PLC's (programmable logic controllers) in an industrial setting.
But I didn't do all that. It's been at the dealer and I just got it back this morning. They replaced the BCS and it seems like it works now. My boost is back up to where it was a year ago so there was a problem with the BCS and the valve was bypassing boost. Also the evap small leak/check gas cap is no longer coming on because I replaced the "T" and vac lines from under the S/C snout.
It took me awhile to address it but I guess I hit the easy button on this one by letting the dealer take care of this one, but it wasn't cheap. I guess that's why I work, spread the love (money).
