I don't know the difference and the applications of the different SC used on the Bonnevilles and years. I need a little education on the lingo.
What is
BCA?
BCS?
M90?
62?
I have a 2003 SSEI. What do I have?
My boost has dropped over the past year, only getting about 3-4. Time for a rebuild? Who to send it to? Anyone here?

Re: Supercharger 101 class needed
Your 2003 SSEi has the Generation 3 M90, which IIRC displaces 90 Cubic inches of air per revolution. The M62 was used on the Series 1 L67, starting in 91 and ending in 95, with the Gen 2 being used 91-93, and the Gen 3 M62 from 94-95. In 96 the Series 2 L67 came out, which went from 96 till 05 in some cars, and in 04 the Grand Prix GTP got the Series III L32, which used the Generation 5 M90, which is more efficient, helping create a 20 HP gain over the Series II.
BCA = Boost Control Actuator, BCS = Boost Control Solenoid. If you look at the front right side of the S/C as you're standing there, the BCS is the round black piece with the arm, the BCA is the small black piece with the electrical connector on it and the vacuum line coming from it. The BCS dumps boost at low vacuum, the BCA dumps boost in reverse, under KR, etc.
Sounds like a bad BCA or BCS. If you needed a rebuild you'd be getting no boost at all, and it would be making lots of noise.

Directly affecting your issue: http://www.3800supercharger.net/diagnosing.html look under "Low Boost".

Thanks Beast. I'm not stupid just a little ignorant but with your help I'll get over that.
After the oil pump delimma, I drove it around a week and wanted to finally get that Service Vehicle Soon to dissappear. I brought it to the dealer to get them to fix it. They didn't but they cleared the history of codes dealing with a disconnected battery then came up with a P0243, S/C Boost Solenoid Control Circuit. Since then my Check Gas Cap came back on after 6 months of being away and also now the SES is on. That is prbably P0442 Evap Small Leak. I've had this many times before.
Would a bad BCA or BCS also give the small evao leak? As for as boost pressure, I use to see 8 but now I'm lucky to see 4.
You can move this if you see fit.

Sounds like a vacuum leak. The way to test would be to unplug the vacuum lines from the BCA, plug them, and see if your issues go away.

Yep, vac leak at the "T" under the snout, changed out the tubing assembly with GM part, ouch!. But it is done right. Still have the SVS coming on in the DIC. I'll check out the BCS as said in the proceedure.

Your car says "Service Vehicle Soon" on the DIC? That doesn't come up for engine codes. You need to get it scanned.
