So I've been meaning to clean the interior carpets on my 02 Bonnie for a while. But over this past weekend we had the bi-annual races at Bristol Motor Speedway. During this time I was taking some diesel to my work to put into the generator running the ice trailer parked outside. During this time I got cut off in the parking lot and one of the cans tipped over and the nozzle of it broke and spilt about 1-2 gallons of diesel on my backseat.
Any suggestions on how to clean the carpets to get rid of any leftover liquid? I've soaked most of it up but it still reeks of diesel.

Gonna have to pull the seats and console and use degreaser on the carpet and power-wash it till the smell is gone.
Bye Bye:

Rip out the carpet. Soak in Simple Green at the local carwash. Blast it. Spray on some fabric softener, and let it dry.
While that's drying, it would be a good time to look at all your grounds, replace any busted trim you may have, and condition your seats.
EDIT - *dang* you Quickdraw Ed!

Re: Need help cleaning carpets
Hopefully you powerwash them in time, gas/diesel is THE hardest smell to get out of a car I've ever encountered. If that doesn't work, the only other option is to have a detail shop ozone the car.
