Cluster - Sticking and erratic Speedo and Gas guage
Motor mount - lots of movement placing in gear
Oil leak - seems to be cooler hoses
Low coolant light just stated coming on
A friend started it up to meet me at the dealer and stated it ran a little rough when first started. I gave the advisor my list and off I went. Got a call the next day saying the tech did a block test and failed and believed it was the head gaskets. As I knew they were covered I authorized tear down. Well after tear down got a call and advisor said tech believed car had overheated at some point as pistions seem to have too much gap in them from cylinder walls. Tech also stated pistons were being cleaned from leaking coolant but it looks like the 2 bottles of Techron was cleaning up the carbon to me. I inspected the pistons and walls and found no scoring so im not buying the over heating issue. WTH is he talking about I thought. Advisor stated they were going to ask for new engine. Ok I said and out came inspector and denied claim, surprise. Long story short 2 inspectors came back out and authorized head gaskets. After more calls to insurance ( Ford Motor Co.), they also agreed to motor mount. Cluster will need to have Tech 2 print out to authorize...I guess needle stuck at 80mph doesnt count as faulty.
So I will have to wait till they get the engine back in. Cooler lines were wet and leaking but not covered under warranty so I ordered those, quick connects from my GM supplier that I get a discount from. Also going to have them install new O2 sensors as was planning on it anyways due to more fuel mileage, already did plugs, K/N, two bottles of Techron.
I also noticed some of the guide rails seem to have chain grooves wearing in them so ordered a new set before they put it back together $140.00. Front crank seal will be covered as part of the timing cover as well as valve cover gaskets.
Anyone have any other suggestions to replace with engine out at this point I maybe overlooking?
