Because its rusted out. Couldn't tell when I bought it. Seems like they sprayed it with that cheap aerosol rhino lining stuff. It also broke a transaxle, all the ball joints, stabilizer bar and links and the tie rods. I'm 22 and do landscaping for a living. I can't afford to fix all that :( but I am looking for another ssei around the same year!
It definitely does. Especially since me and my girlfriend have to share the grand prix. And we both have 30 minute commutes to work. In two different directions. Fml

I know what you mean. My Mom was up there visiting 2 months ago and planned on buying a car there. She said every car there for sale was a pile of crap held together with paperclips, JB Weld and bubblegum!
Some meets would be great! I'll have another one before winter hits. And the jb weld and bubble gum trick is infamous around these parts. If you have a rust free car around here, It's probably brand new.

My little bro and I were just talking about this problem tonight with the H-Body cars. If only GM would have made the metal twice as thick on those rear sub frame mounting locations, these problems could be avoided.
That's how it goes. You drive one of these cars year after year in the salt and she gonna fall apart. Undercoating when the car was new and oiling down those areas is what a person would need to do in order for these cars to survive the unkind winters.
