My Shocks
I am looking at getting some new shocks fairly soon..les schwab wants to charge me $713 to do my shocks and struts so im thinking I will just do them myself after watching some "how to" videos on youtube..what shocks do you guys recommend for a 96 SE? thanks! Dark_Knight.

It's not who I am underneath, but what I do, that defines me.

Re: My Shocks
Monroe Sensa Trac would be a good option. A Monroe quick strut kit wouldn't be a bad ideal either. Check out www.rockauto.com for a pretty good price.

Re: My Shocks
Just paid $51.92 per side for gasmatic rears and shock mount from Advance doing an online order/in store pickup with $30 off $75 discount code (BIG30). Sensa-trac are $34 more per side and quick struts are $120ish before any discounts.
Pulled one of the back wheels on my 99 SE and realized I would need to replace the lower bolts with the "AK43" bolt kit and cost me another $7 per side. You will need 24mm sockets and 21mm open end wrench. I needed to use the impact on the bolts(21mm) and a ton of pb blaster as they were rusted quite solidly in place and didnt want to move.
I'm now looking at quick struts for the front. Gasmatics with lower bolt kit and using discount code $50 off $150 (VISA) are $106.98+tax per side. Sensa-trac are $40 more per side front.
So far the gasmatics are just fine for my cheap a$$.
I find alot of good discount codes on retailmenot dot com and advance consistantly has significant discounts to be had.
