So, yea...last time i posted around here, i had just suffered an overheating problem, and have since torn the engine down the top of the block and replaced all top end gaskets, including head gaskets (just to be sure).
After the overheating incident, the car was running incredibly rough, and spitting all kinds of fluids everywhere. Replacing the top end gaskets cured the fluid loss and part of the rough running, and new valve seals cured the smokey starts, however the car has run rough ever since. I made a point to check the valves, and none were cracked or bent.
While the car is functioning fine, losing no fluids and holding improved oil pressure, i'm still experiencing rough low RPM idle and overdrive conditions, as well as slight steady surges which are almost unnoticable. A new EGR and new set of plug wires (it needed them anyway) helped slightly, but didn't cure the problem. Using a screwdriver, i've noticed the #3 injector making some noises inconsistent with the rest of the lot, and have purchased a replacement, however i'm trying to figure out where to start looking if the injector doesn't improve the situation.
It wouldn't surprise me if the overheating may have killed one or more of my 18 yr old sensors, but i'm not sure how to test anything past the TPS, which checked out last time i tested it. What other issues could i be looking at past the injectors due to overheating?
