GXP rotors

I know this may be a stupid question and forgive me GXP fans but I have to ask this to clear my mind and calm down a bit. Does a GXP have three holes in the front rotors where they screw into the hub bearing? Before my GXP I had an 04 sle and I know the rotors did not have the holes in them having done many pad and rotor changes due to my speeding and stopping quickly but that car let me drive it into the ground and thanked me for it. So missing that car so much and loving everything about it I decided to cheat on her with her younger better looking sister and got a GXP. I have only had the car for 3 months now and all I can say is *dang*. The power, the feel, the everything makes me want to stand and applaud pontiac for changes they started to make towards their untimely end. I love this car and I'm going to take even better care of her than I did with my other. I ask about the rotors though because I ordered drilled and slotted rotors that are zinc plated to prevent rust (which cost more money and i could have done myself since i work at a plating shop but welcome to my life) and I looked at them when I got them and they have three holes in them where they butt up against the hub bearing and I just want to make sure they are the right ones before I go taking off my wheels and find out they are the wrong ones and then have to go through the long grueling process of having to have to return them. There are no screws or anything holding them to the hub up front, as far as I can remember. In the rear it has the things that screw over the lugs, but that's it.

What brand rotors did you get?

Nope, nothing special. Same approach as any other 2000+ Bonneville for rotor removal.

The 91 Honda Civic Wagon rotors I pulled off a few hours ago, though... Phillips screws into the hub? Really? I had to torch them out

I just went to the garage and checked some old drilled and slotted rotors from the front of my '05 GXP. They have three countersunk holes between the holes for the lugs. Two of the holes are on each side of one lug opening, the third is opposite and the spacing forms a triangle. Sounds like you are OK as far as fit is concerned.

Those holes could be part of the machining process for drilling or something also...

That and the fact that many, well, most rotors are in general "universal" in application. Meaning that the specific rotor GM wanted for the GXP, may actually be found on another vehicle somewhere. So when it's cast, it's cast in with the necessary provisions for those uses.

But no, the GXP does not use screws/bolts to hod it to the hub assembly. Just the torque of the lug nuts.

Don't the GXP need the vented rotors?

Pretty much all cars I have ever seen by any manufacturer have vented front rotors. The GXP has solid rear rotors that are slightly larger than SE/SLE/SSEi solid rear rotors.
