The core shouldn't interfere, the lim is under positive displacement once the bbv closes. The gen v inlet is A-symetrial, it doesn't take much to flip the n* so there isn't a clearance issuse there.

edit- you can add spacers to your cradle, and/or put washers under hood mounts to gain clearance.

The core clearly blocks off almost half of the runner. Positive manifold pressure or not, that will hurt flow. If boost cancelled out poor flow, you wouldn't have high ratio rockers...

Do you mean spacing the subframe, basically raise the whole car around the engine? Might work, but id rather avoid a front up stance, even if it is only by half an inch or so.

I'm pretty sure flipping the tb and some creative trimming are going to have to come into play. There are also some things I can do in the lim to improve the blockage situation. Not sure if I mentioned it, but the water passages of the core don't go to the very edge, so I can cut away the perimeter plate and allow air to flow more freely that way.

Even if its not perfect, id just like to make an improvement for my own mental well being.

2.25 fits under hood with cutting under side of hood. With solid front mount and cutting the under side of hood that only leaves .25" you have to find.

I'm using the old school VW radiator. Finns per inch is huge compared to zzp or froozen boost front mount heat exchanger.

Ill have to stick some plumbers dope on the blower this weekend to see where I am stock. Seems like something that would varry more than .25" from car to car.

I don't see any reason I couldn't make a lower profile fron mount, right? Save some room there.

The lim I have has been milled down about .125" for whatever reason. Not that that much would make a difference...

It looks like my setup came with the vw rad as well, looks like a pretty nice unit, but I'm not sure where ill be able to put it just yet.

I've had something very similar in mind. Looks b'dass. Not quite sure how much bodywork I really want to do but it sure would look sweet.

I have considered a few things for the hood as well. But the biggest thing that bugs me with a cowl hood like that is that the body lines on the hood recess in and then rise up for the cowl...if you know what I mean. Ideally I think if the pattern on the hood was inverted to rise instead of recessing in it would look great.

One more little step.

Still need to get bearings, rebuild the blower, machine the spacer for under the intercooler, either make or buy a tb adapter, need fuel rails, gaskets, probably injectors, fuel pump... probably not going to use the LIM I got with the intercooler either. For some reason it was faced down .125". Ill likely use it for practicing porting.

Getting closer to being able to mock it up though. Pcv function and egr delete are still undecided.

Booze, I have thought the same thing. Just invert the lines and get as much rise as you need. I wonder if the the best way to do that would be to cut the center section out and weld in panels on the sides. I can't think of any way of doing that that I would be able to do.

The problem is that welding that thin of Aluminum is a PITA....
