180 degree thermostat question

I plan to install an INTENSE 180 degree thermostat either tonight or tomorrow night. I've read a few post on here about drilling a small hole on the thermostat. I know the hole is suppose to be small. Can someone tell me how small to drill the hole and where exactly it should be? A pic would be greatly appreciated.

1/16" hole on the flat spot just outside of where the plunger is.

Also, plan on getting your PCM tuned to have the fans come on at a lower temp to take advantage og the 180* stat

I don't know anyone locally who will tune a PCM. Say I install it tonight and have the PCM tuned several months from now, will it hurt anything?

No, it will be fine, just dont get worried when your temps stay where they are with a 195.

why dont you bleed the air of with the bleeder like it's there for? I have had many gm cars setup like this and always used the bleed off valve

The hole helps get air past the stat so that you can get it out of the bleed valve.

Gets all the air out of the LIM and heads, etc so you can bleed it out.

the 195 stat I just replaced the other day had a little something off to the side, it was a gm stat. Wonder what that was?

You will notice on the highway, that your temp gauge will begin to dip though.
