The Death of my 94 SSE

Post by 94Bonnilover »

 :btruestory: On April 1, 2012 my baby was wrecked by an eighty-five year old by all accounts should not still be driving. Matter of fact, this is one of the first things the Officer said to me when they got to the scene. In the past 10 months I put roughly $4K worth of work and my car was running better than when I first got it. However, my lost hopefully will be others in the club gain. I have available brand new Gates water pump, torque rods (L & R), and a used passenger side mirror (electric) for anyone who wants them.

No, no one was injured; I was hit from the back door to wheel well. It just hurts to see the car go that way.

There are several very good write-ups on how to do this, but me being the blind hog I am, can't find them.
Okay,
1) if you have a facebook account, go to http://www.photobucket.com, and login.
If you don't have a facebook account, create one on photobucket.
2) Follow the directions on photobucket on how to up-load your photos. It took me a while to figure this out and I still have to almost re-learn everytime I do. It's not hard, I just don't learn/remember very well.
3) open another tab or internet explorer window and login to our club site. create your post. On photobucket there are three or four different choices of links over the photos you up-loaded. I suggest the one that has (I think is is next to last at the bottom). Once you have the path of your photo, move to the club post you're creating and use your <control><v> keys to place the path of your pics from photobucket where you want them in your post. It will take some practive. If you've ever created a web page, it is similar to the coding for that.

Okay, that's about all the help I am. Like I said, somewhere on the forum, there are much better instructions, but, as usual, I can't find them. Good luck! Can't wait to see the pics. - BC

My condolences to the recently departed. It should be known of course that life is a quality game, not one of quantity and your Bonne certainly shared with you many happy miles. Now her spirit is gliding on the roads of automotive heaven where there are no speed limits or potholes and premium unleaded flows freely (and no emissions either!!). Let us all share a moment of silent prayer for our Brothers loss, then let's rejoice the Bonnie memories which shall echo through time everlasting.

Yup, I agree. Lost a few cars in my days, and it always sucked.

I too have gone through this...I bought a '98 LE in May of 98 and took great care of it. Even though it had a few miles on it, 212,000, it ran well, didn't use any oil, and had no rust...surface or beneath. Last year my son turned 16 and I figured this would be a good car for a 16 year old to drive and you can probably finish the story. Fortunately no one was injured. I now have this car sitting in my garage supplying me parts for 2 95s I bought as replacements...but as with a lot of used cars with that kind of age on them...they are no where near the condition of the 98.

Yeah, I totaled my '98 Aurora almost three years ago and I still miss her. I still get a twinge every time I see one on the road, especially if it's the same color as mine.
