2002 SSEi Electrical Issues - Need some advice

Post by SSEIking »

First, I'm a new member and I would like to thank you for reading my post. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

2002 Pontiac SSEi - 141k miles - Very well taken care of.

Last week all this stuff stopped working at the same time;
Power Locks, Moon Roof, Reverse Lights, Plate Lights, Trunk Release, interior lights, rear defog and power outlets.

I have checked all the fuses and they looked great. Maybe it's a relay or a ground? I have no clue.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Have a great day!

The RIM (Rear Integration Module) functions include the following:

Ajar switch and tamper switch inputs from the rear compartment lid.
Automatic level control.
Cigar lighter relay control.
Fuel door lock and release control.
Heated seat controls.
Park brake relay control.
Rear compartment lid release controls.
Rear defogger relay control.
Retained Accessory Power (RAP) relay control.
Reverse lamp relay control.
Various controls for the interior lamps.
Sound familiar? Replace the RIM. I have several in stock, PM me if you need one.

How much will a RIM cost me? Is this something that's fairly simple to install or should I have a professional do it?

Thanks again!

$35 shipped

It's pretty simple. Its located behind the rear seat, accessible from the interior of the car. Remove the rear seat back to access it.

I can't thank you enough for your help.

I just called the dealership closet to my house...here is what they told me.

$187 for the part - $90 for installation. He said it will have to be programed thru GM. Your thoughts?

If you can give me a link to the part for $35, I'll probably order it before weeks end.

It will only need to be programmed if it is a new part. All the used ones I sell are pre-programmed and will work just fine with no programming.

PM me for information on how to order it, or pay through my website: http://bonnevillecarparts.com/orderparts.html
