WCBF '12 - July 16-22***Cancelled*** (1st post updated)

Post by myfirstbonnie »

Since Bill has shown no interest in hosting and this (viewtopic.php?f=7&t=33537)

Unless someone else wants to host or organize something, it looks like this will not be able to happen.

I know I am in, who else is interested in keeping the tradition on for a 9th year. Not sure on the track dates until the calendar is posted and I will update as information is available.

I will keep the attendees updated as they come in:

Myfirstbonnie/Nursebonnie007 - 2000 SSEi "The Rubber Chicken"
Kdogg - 1992 SSEi "Gravenge"
PRD2BDF - 2005 Saab 9-3 "Stewie"
2000CadillacSTS - "The Mystery Machine"
Boss455 and co-pilot - 1999 Buick Regal GS

Don't mind me asking but where is this taking place (first time)...lol

I just don't want to have to spend close to $500 in gas (bad gas mileage + non working fuel gauge). I really want to go but i live in Indiana and from what i am seeing it looks to take place in Oregon...close to 2,100 miles away....YIKES!!!

Yep, it's in Oregon.

I have no idea what my summer looks like, but I'd love to come, as I've said 4x in the past, lol. Put me down as tenative, whether I drive or fly and hitch a ride in the Chicken.

Sorry guys, but for the first time since 2008 I cannot make it to the meet this year; I'm stuck in Korea until August. If WCBF were a month later though... ;)

I just heard from the PDXCGP folks and they are interested in having a joint track day again. After last year, they agree that it is a lot more fun with a competition between the clubs. From looking at their schedule, there is no track days for us the 23rd to the 29th. The 20th has a night of Friday night fun drags.

I would like to have any input anyone has as far as a date change or ideas for working with the track schedule to get this going. http://www.woodburndragstrip.com/

So, gimme your feedback and let me know what you think and I will work with them.

So far I have not time constrants in July; so whatever works best for other members should work for me :)

I scratched off that week on the work calendar, but i still have to see if I can get everything done on the car first, it's a healthy list of to-do's.

After looking at the schedule cor Woodburn, I think we need to move the dates to weekend before this.

Does anyone object to this?

No objection here, would like to lock-in a date as soon as possible, since everybody in my shop loves to split in July.

The dates are now the 16th - 22nd so we can align with a race day at Woodburn. We can start planning our reservations at the KOA. I will be making my reservations next week.

I will let the GP club know of our dates so we can plan a race date with them.

Thanks for sorting that out Matt, I checked their schedule, but for a drag noob like me it was all Greek.

Have you guys tented at the opposite end from last year before? I think its the south end, further from the main road, it's where I originally reserved last year but switched out. I know that KOA was booked tight last year so I'm going to get on it soon.
