I have a 2000 ssei that i purchased as a project a few months ago. It needed what i thought was intake gaskets, cause, well its a GM 3800. Turns out it was the plastic elbow. I used your site A LOT to figure out most of the problems. I have already fixed, moonroof drains, resealed all four doors, hard shifting tranny, heated seat wires, 3 faulty windows because of leaky drains/doors. I have a ton of work into this car and it keeps dragging me in farther.
PROBLEM #1
I cant get the key out of the ignition. I tried taking the column apart looking for a button or switch. i didnt see one. I played with the shifter, knowing that if not fully in park it wont come out. I also recently bought a new GM lock cylinder. Still doesnt come out. Works fine when its out of the car, as soon as its installed, no go. Any advice/help?
PROBLEM #2
My passenger front door. None of the power options work from that door or driver door. (locks, window, mirror) I checked wires in the door thinking from opening and closing the door there might be broken wires. I also tried "slamming" the door. No luck to either one. I even bought a new module for the door and it did nothing. I also thought it was strange that on the information center it doesnt show that the passenger front door is ajar. So there is no communication whatsoever to that door. Any help/advice? Im at witts end here! Im ready to drive the car into a tree! Thanks guys and GREAT site!!! Its helped me tremendously so far!

Re: NEW Bonneville issues??
Problem 1: Might be a problem with the neutral safety switch. Its a $30 part. IT tells the ECU when the car is in Park and it will release the key. Part is made by BWD the part number is S26065 . Might be worth a shot.
Problem 2: This can be caused by the Body Control Module. In the front. This part may be contributing to Problem #1 as well. I dont know much about it. I hope some of the other members can chime in with more info. You can try searching for Body Control Module or BCM

Which door module did you replace? The driver's door module controls all the other doors through their modules. Have you had any water drip in on the door window switches?

Problem 1 could very likely be your actual shift handle. When they start to wear out, they will act as though the car is not in park. Pull the handle off and make sure it is actually releasing the button. I had two GP's do this.
