SSEi Exhaust
Took my car in to see how much it would be to put an exhaust on her. I haven't ever put a aftermarket exhaust on any of my past cars so I'm not sure whats a good price. The shop I took it into quoted me about $800 for Magnaflow high flow cats two mufflers and two tips with all the pipe I would need. Is that a good price or am I over paying? And if anyone willing to tell me what did you pay if you had your car piped?

Re: SSEi Exhaust
How bad is your exhaust?
The exhaust is all stainless and should not need all the pipes replaced. I could see the cat, res and mufflers, but I would order my own and have them welded in.

I completely agree with this, and is what I did.myfirstbonnie wrote:How bad is your exhaust?

I ordered Hooker Mufflers, dual outlet tips from ebay, and resonator from Moroso and took them all to the exhaust shop. The shop charged me $200 to run all new 2.5'' stainless exhaust from the high flow cat to the tips and install all purchased components. It sounds like I got quite a deal considering it took about 3 hours for them to install it. We are also located in a small town and this shop has done family repairs on my parents cars for over 20 years.
Hope this helps! I sure love the sound of my car (which is also equipped with ZZP stainless 2.5'' downpipe and hi-flow cat.)

Re: SSEi Exhaust
With mine I did the same by getting my own parts and having them put on. PLog, 3" Downpipe, Magnaflow cat, Holley glasspack in place of resonator, and finally two Flowmaster Super 44s out back, stock tips moved in and down for cosmetic/heat purposes. Hope this helps!

Re: SSEi Exhaust
Cats? Your car only has one cat. $800, go find yourself a new exhaust shop. I bought my mufflers and my shop did my exhaust(3" all the way out back) for around $325

Re: SSEi Exhaust
Moved to the proper section. This isn't a mechanical problem.
The best way to start a topic like this would be for you to ask what needs to be done for the exhaust. Then we give you answers and a budget. Your exhaust work will NOT include replacing any of the mandrel-bent stainless piping at all. Nor will it add a second catalytic converter. That's just stupid.

Re: SSEi Exhaust
I would start with a Custom Downpipe from ZZPerformance. if you are just looking for sound then i would replace the rear mufflers and tips. that should only be a Couple hundred bux. the stock exhaust is good for a bit of power once you replace the Downpipe.
