Goodbye to my Bonne (sniff, sniff)

Goodbye to my Bonne (sniff, sniff)

Post by 2000GreySSEi »

After 10 months with my Bonne. The tranny was started to let loose, and it was time to let it go :sadeyz:. Though I had my share of problems with this car, but I loved this car the most. Thanks to this car and this great forum, I am now more mechanically inclined, and have confidence working under the hood now. I now know how to do performance mods, and do it right. Though my bonne is gone, I will still be around the forum. My uncle just bought a GTP so I'm going to need help with troubleshooting, and I will be giving you guy updates on my new project. I just picked up a 1995 (I know it's a.....ford) lincoln Mark VIII. It has 128k and runs great, and everything works (even the air ride). I ended up paying only $1200 :bwoohoo: . I will post pics of it once I clean it up a little. I again want to thank all you guys on the forum that helped me with my bonne, and helping me become more comfortable under the hood :beerchug: .

A shame, but I can see the appeal of the Mark VIII. I like those too!

Just pray those air shocks don't go out on you.

But those are some nice cars, when everything is functional.

Those older Lincoln's are pretty nice. My roomie has a 94 Town Car, boat of a car, but it's nice. He had it converted to regular springs/shocks when his air shocks died a year or so ago, lol.

@Haro

It sold for $2200, I was going to put it on here, but I got an interested buy the first day I listed it. $2200 isn't bad for I paid $1500 for it.

@Lucas

I had the only 2000+ SSEi that was listed under Cars & Trucks-Owner in Chicago, so that probably was me lol. It would of been great if a Bonne Club member bought it.

@Saturn Simon

Yea I've been trying to get one since I had my thunderbird when I was 17. They are very nice. Plus 32V V8 & RWD is something new and addicting lol.

@94SilverSSEi & @Ed

Keeping my finger crossed on it, but no problems so far (knocking on wood). I have a cheap mechanic, so if the air ride ever goes out, I will just convert it to conventional springs.

@01BonneSC

Thanks I was looking for a site for Mark VIIIs, but most are aged.

Probably because of of the 280hp/285tq 32V V8 that is put to the the Rear Wheels lol. But they are nice cars. The exterior has a kinda hate it or love it look, but oh man the interior of the car, and the driving position. I fell in love with it as soon as I set in it. Everything is wrapped around you, and it sits right in front of you. It feel kinda sports carish. The seats are very plushy and feel like pillows. Sorry for rambling on about it, but it just feels so much different than any car I have driven. Im not a ford guy either, and this is probably the only Ford product I actually like, oh and the Cobra because it's supercharged :)

That silver one I showed is my buddys. He put another compressor in, to speed up the suspension fill and a couple electronic valves to slam it when he parks it. It's pretty tits.

Yea it is classy, but it just too much chrome for me. I want it monochrome like the Bonne was. I'm just going to paint the chrome trims.
