my 500$ beauty

Post by razmatazz »

well here is my Bonneville. it might not be the prettiest of things on the outside. but for 500 bucks (200 to buy and 300 in multiple repairs) i got a hell of a car. i bought it for 200 bucks cause it had the common plenum malfunction and after fixing that, and replacing the starter, alternator, plugs and wires, gas and brake line, radiator and both hoses, tps and map sensors, head gaskets. i think i did well. i know its not pritty but its only got 120xxx on the engine and tranny, and 224xxx on the body. so be nice when commenting lol. What i have added to the car since i got it.
1) spectre cold air intake
2) sony explodes hooked up to a 1000wat 4channel volfenhag amp
3) HID lights
4) LED turn signal and marker lights
5) VR3 car stereo

Lose your hot air intake, actually hurting your performance.

I'd ditch the inside set of fogs, they look like crap, and are illegal as hell...

yeah i know they are illegal. but no cop will really give you a ticket for that. all that will happen when they pull you over is it will be an excuse for hem to search your background for warrants and ects. but cmon for 500 bucks i think i did well

Nice looking car!
As already mentioned, I'd lose the inside fogs, and get some shielding around that intake or something. Looks pretty quick and overall doesn't look to be in too bad of a condition! Nice find! Especially for half a grand! :)

Amazing deal for $500 after repairs.

But seriously...ditch the fogs, fix that exhaust...maybe un-do the GP wheels...and that should do it.

Paint looks amazing though! Good deal!

Local member olblueeyesbonne got a ticket for having 6 lights on, Highs/Lows/Fogs. Don't believe that crap everyone tells you. It can and will happen. It all depends on the cop, what kind of night they're having, how you're driving, etc.

For $500 you got a good car that you can de-rice and make nice again.

I think he is beautiful .... but I see your point. $500 tops!

I am a bit suspicious about the $300 for repairs. Sure you are not underestimating? All that stuff ... admit it, they cost you $319,99! :P

Nice car! Considering the low miles on the drive train, seems reasonable! Thumbs up!!

Whats wrong with the GT rims i personally like them? and i would love clear corners trust me if you could hook me up with a link with a how to guide so i can do it i would. I did take off the hot air intake for the winter. Iam looking into getting the stock headlight back but the idiot befor me clipped off the connectors for the wires so i got to get 2 lights and the plug ins. but i must add that a recent unfortunate event caused my friends to think i would be funny to paint the interior of my car blue and silver...... i would post pics.... but its hard enough for me to drive in it as it is. so i got to figure what i should do.... But pay back was bitter sweet. hopefully i will have the car cleaned but and back to the stock look by Monday.

I found a set on ebay for like $20-30. Direct replacement on my car (98) which I think is the same as yours.
