Buicl LeSabre Center Arm Rest

Talk about the other 3800 powered GM cars, particularly for items not covered in other sections that may be unique to your year/model, and differ from a Bonneville.

Buicl LeSabre Center Arm Rest

Post by Vitaminmopar »

Hoping someone out there can tell me how to remove the center arm rest on a 2000 Buick LeSabre split bench. I'm wanting to remove the lower seat cushion on the drivers side to inspect the seat heating element wiring and repair/replace as needed. I would prefer to not have to remove the whole seat to do this as garage space is limited and it is wet outside. I know the center arm rest is held in with four screws. Problem is removing rear air vent panel so I can gain access to the screws. Does this panel snap in or are there screws holding it in. I've prodded, pulled and pushed just short of breaking it and it is still attached. I have also tried to remove the duct at the floor junction so I could remove the lower cushion and arm rest out. Seems the duct has four retaining tabs holding it in place. If there are four I can only reach the top two. Suggestions, pointers anyone?

Not sure about yours, but my LSS console has 2 large screws anchoring the rear of the console, at the side of the seats, as well as screws under the bucket, but to access the side screws I needed to remove the seats. A ratcheting combination wrench would have done it w/o removing the seats, but it might be a little tight for you to remove the console. Also, don't forget to remove the electrical connectors for accessory power and trans indicator light, etc. Hope this is close to helping.
