Hey all, I was entertaining the idea of purchasing a GXP and had a question. Now forgive me, I'm not on here much or know much about the GXP's in general, but was curious how difficult it would be to swap out the N* for a 3800, which I'd subsequently like to turbo. I'm not a big fan of the N* and want to build a unique vehicle. Are the transmissions the same? Exhaust? Thanks in advance.

Nah, I like the newer style. But I've got a GXP sitting right under my nose here and that's why I'm asking the question.PLAGUE PHANTOM wrote:Just buy an SSEi

Re: Bonneville GXP swap question
Essentially nothing is the same. Get an 05 SLE, that's worlds closer.

It's never been done before but I'm looking at the same swap. Basically you need two complete cars to complete the transformation.

I talked to a guy on youtube that swapped a GXP engine into an SLE and he gave me some really good information as far as the swap.harofreak00 wrote:It's never been done before but I'm looking at the same swap. Basically you need two complete cars to complete the transformation.
Basically what I plan on doing is taking the engine and transmission out and selling it, and I'm certain that some guys on here or in general would be interested in it. Swapping in an L67 which I plan on turboing. It's going to be a fascinating build, similar to the 500 hp turbo GTP I had.
