Voltage meter jumps from 14 to 16

Post by T_Whittaker87 »

I have a 2003 SLE and have recently replaced my battery, yesterday as I was going down the highway I noticed the volt meter jumping from it's average of around 14 all the way up to 16 and every where in between. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue? The battery comment at the beginning may just be a coincidence but I figured it wouldn't hurt to supply you with as much info as possible, thanks.

Check your battery terminals. I know you just replaced the battery and a logical assumption would be that the terminals are tight, but check them anyway. My battery terminals seem to loosen over time and the indicator is the volt meter jumping all over the place. After I tighten them up, the volt meter remains nice & steady.
